Hi Mr. Ching,

It’s me again. Charlotte in LA. As mentioned in my last update, I went back to Hong Kong to attend Josephine Hui Chi Wing’s [ F7 1998 ] wedding last month. It was really a nice banquet, a lot of my high school friends were there. Most of all, to witness one of my best friends getting married. There was a moment in chapel, so touching that I almost cried for her. (Not very much like my style though! Haha…) Then I sat down and realized, I have known her for more than 15 years! And we are still keeping in touch, knowing each other so well! It’s really amazing!

For our other schoolmates’ information, Josephine and Angus got married on October 27, 2007. They met each other in HKU during college time. Josephine works as a clinical psychologist in NGO and Angus will be switching to financial sector. And I am sending in a couple snap-shots I had at the chapel and banquet, to share their happiness with all who know Josephine.

This time I also dropped by CCSC on October 31 and had an hour sharing with Miss Mok’s 7A class, it was a great experience. The only “bug” was, I did not have enough time to cover all I planned to share with them, mainly due to lack of time for rehearsal. I just flew back to Hong Kong with the slides I made and everything was in a rush. I hope in the future I can do better.

After the sharing, I chatted with Mr. Yuen. He suggested maybe I can go back to give a talk in assembly in the coming years, to share with our fellow classmates about my work, studies and learning philosophy (which I benefited most from American education system during these years). Personally, I feel great and very meaningful to share all my experience to our fellow schoolmates. No matter good or bad, it is good to learn from the others to avoid the traps and gain insight from the “history”. Hope this assembly would be too far away from now! =)

I had a nice dinner with Mrs. A. Ng that night, it was such a wonderful time. Time does fly, it is more than 8 years after I left CCSC. Mrs. A. Ng has been very nice to me since my F.4. It is always a blessing to have such a friendly, understanding and considerate teacher at CCSC.

For me, finally… I am happy to share with you that I am going to graduate from UCLA with my Ph.D. degree next year! Yes, I got my advisor’s word two months ago. Now, I am working hard to rush enough data to write my dissertation and thesis. Hopefully my developed fabrication process will work okay, can graduate on time. We probably will file a patent for my device later.

So much for the updates. Oh, almost forgot the description for the pictures! The big group photo was taken at the banquet, it is the second last CCSC group picture we took that night. We have a couple CCSC pictures taken that night, the last one should have all the CCSC guys, unfortunately I did not have it in hand). The one with 4 people taken outside the chapel, from the left to right are Jenny Chen (F7 1998), Charlotte Kwong (F7 1999), Josephine Hui (F7 1998) and Julia Law (F5 1996 -- not sure, I only knew she left for Singapore around that time). The remaining one is kind of self-explanatory, Josephine and Angus were “marching out” from chapel to receive our blessing.

It is always nice to visit your CCSC page to keep up what’s happening over there! Thanks a lot, Mr. Ching.

Dear Kam Chuen and all:

Thank you for the nice pictures, it's great to see some of our alumni which I've not seen for so many years, such as Vivian Ng, Keung Yuk Han, Tse Yuk Yim ( I'm not sure about the spelling) plus the rest of the group I've met during my last visit to HK -- such as Miss Ng, Hui Tin Fook, Lucy Suen, Yu Yim May etc.

Hope I can join you one of these days.

God Bless.
