Dear Ching Sir,

How're you doing? I emailed you couple years before.

I went back to Hong Kong this summer, after a trip with my university students to Shanghai and Beijing. I've met many CCSC friends and I would like to share some pictures here (-- wonder if you recognize some of them):

A Hiking Trip in Hong Kong with old classmates: Back Row (L to R): Patrick Wong and Alex Kwok
Front (L to R): Jimmy Yeung, Katherine Cheung, Cherry Yung, Alwen Yeung (me!), Ivy Cheng, Dennis Ho, Andrew Chen

It was a great day! I met so many friends from high school that I've not met for YEARS (more than 13 years since F.5 graduation!)

BTW, through your webpage, Matthew Lau contacted me, he left CCSC in F.5 to U.S. and just recently moved back to HK for his career, he'll soon move back to U.S.
I've also enclosed several very recent pictures:

Left: Shanghai, with my University 4000 students. Right: My husband and I in St. Simon Island, GA

More photos to be posted in Family Album

Quick Update: After graduating from Florida State University, I worked in Columbus State University and Georgia Southwestern State University as their staff accompanist. Right now, I'm a Visiting Associate Professor of Music in Georgia Southwestern State University, and also an organist in First United Methodist Church, Americus.

Anyone coming to GA (Atlanta area) do please stop by to Americus and let me know ! It's a charming small town, and 10 minutes from President Jimmy Carter's hometown.

Cheers,
Alwen Y

May Happiness come on secret winds
and surround you forever in the ways of beauty.

VISITING DUBAI FROM HONG KONG

Dear Ching Sir,

I would like to share with you my recent experience in Dubai. I went there for a business trip last week. Our office was in the middle of the desert, about half an hour's drive from my hotel. Camels are frequently used for short trip transportation. The weather was rather hot, about 41 deg C, but they said it has been "cooler" compared with last month where the temperature could go up to 49 deg C.

The entire city seems to be a construction site and you wonder why the construction sites at nighttime were as bright as the IFC in Hong Kong. Well, daytime was too hot and most construction work were being carried out during nighttime where the temperature drops a bit.

It is the month of Ramadan when I was there. Eating and drinking is forbidden before the sun sets and we, as the expatriates, followed the rules as a graceful respect to the local culture.

Just before I fly back, I visited the "Mall of the Emirates" where the "Ski Dubai" is located. They can practise skiing in the middle of the desert and you start to understand why oil prices rocketed in recent years.

This was a good experience to appreciate different cultures and I attach several photos to share with you and the Alumni.

More photos to be posted in Family Album.

Best Regards,
Wilson Chan

Mr Ching:

Attaching recent news article -- the lady Chan Shih Mui is from CCSC, 1974. I think Roger Chan Kwok Kwong should know her.

Also attached is a classmate union picture taken when Janie Pang (Leung Kwok Ching) was in Hong Kong in 2004

Regards
KC Lau

Thank you very much, KC, for the info and newspaper clipping,   -- Felix

    CCSCOSA Dinner, 20 September 2007

  • By the way, the celebration dinner for CCSC's 40th Anniversary , will be held during the academic year 2008-2009. We've heard that it may take place as early as September 2008, although no definite date has been set as yet. It is going to be high time for overseas alumni to go back to HK and meet A LOT of CCSC people in one single dinner.

So -- stay tuned for further updates on this event and match your travel plans to the 40th Anniversary Dinner.

  • Thanks to Ho Wing Sze Jackson and Leung Kwok Ching (Janie Pang) and others for updates on email address and phone numbers.

  • Leung Kwok Ching (Janie Pang) and her husband and relatives will be taking a tour to China. They will be in Hong Kong early morning Friday 10/5, and will leave for Shanghai on Monday 10/9. Janie said she would be delighted in meeting friends in HK. Please get in touch with her ASAP.

    Hello Mr Ching,

This is May Lee, graduated in 1977. I am now in Vancouver - actually I am aware that you have set up the site for us - THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Schoolmates who graduated in the same year include Cheung Kwai Har, Yan Ming Yuk, Chung Chak Man, Tang Yuet Kiu, Ho Wai Lan, Chan Siu Lun, Chan Kwong Yeung, Chan Kwok Wai, Ku Tak Ming, etc etc etc .....

When I visited Hong Kong 4 years ago, I managed to meet with quite a number of my teachers who included Miss Su Woo Ying (retired that year), Miss Ng, Miss Winnie Wong, and Miss Anna Hong (who used to be my class teacher in Form One). That was a lovely dinner meeting.

Actually I will be on a cruise tomorrow and will stop over San Francisco on Wednesday September 26th, then head off to L.A. Hopefully, I will meet up with Cheung Hung Kee Patrick, one of my old classmate at CCSC, who is now a dentist!

Just for now, and please take care Mr Ching. Thanks again for setting up this website so that we can update on our old buddies.

    May Lee

...... I was in SF yesterday and managed to meet with Cheung Hung Kee who is now a dentist in SF. I will forward your contact to him, in case he wants to keep in touch with you - Actually I mentioned about the website yesterday to him, he seemed to be interested - the only thing is he is shy!!

Too bad we only stopped over for several hours (the cruise is leaving at 3:00 p.m.) Maybe next time we will spend more time so that I can meet with more people.

We are now sailing for LA, and I promised to give more input when I return to Vancouver.

Take care Mr Ching, and look forward to hearing from you again.

    May

Thank you, May. And, we heard about Cheung Hung Kee and Cheung Hung Yip brothers, but just didn't have the chance to meet. We would be most interested in hearing from them.
