Hello Ching Sir,
This is Dennis Lau. I attended CCSC from 1976 to 1983. Darrick Lam introduced me to your website. Reading the materials you put together over the years brought forth many memories. Thank you for your time and effort.
Having graduated from F7 in 1983, I didn’t go to the HKU and instead went overseas for college study; heading straight for the U of Washington in Seattle. After graduation, I stayed and worked for Washington Mutual Bank; until now. I did change job once but that institution was eventually acquired by the big WaMu. And I found myself on the receiving end of many “can run but can’t hide” jokes.
After many moons in Seattle (you know, that “sunshine” capital of the US), I relocated to southern CA in 2000 and now reside in south Orange County. I am happily married to my wife and together we have 2 kids aged 6 (girl) and 4 (boy). I’ll send pictures some other time.
Speaking of pictures, Enoch Poon was my classmate until he bolted to the Chinese U after F6 (traitor!!). He sent you an email sometime last year with some pictures of him and family, and said he now resides in Florida. Can you forward his contact info? Thank you in advance. Also, for some reason I couldn’t browse the pictures he sent and it is not because of my PC since I tried on more than one machine; can you please re-post? Curious to see how old Enoch looks these days…
Changing subject, I must not be the 1st who make this remark: is there something about the water CCSC serves? From Ms Ng to Ms Wong to Mr Wat to Ms Luk to Ms Poon…, you folks hardly aged! Sorry for the reminder but I can’t believe it is 24 years since I last saw my secondary school teachers. Yet many of you look too young to be retiring. You didn’t doctor any pictures on the website did you, knowing your fondness for photography?
And I can’t believe David Sing Man Kwong became a teacher for CCSC. David was my God-sent. Without his help walking me through the math assignments almost daily after school, the “C” I got in the open exam would have been an “E”, or worse, a gun-toting “F”.
As said earlier, I have many fond memories of CCSC. Walking those flights of stairs to school (boy can I use the exercise now), going behind the canteen lady to “borrow” her phone to order lunch from outside restaurants, learning to write as fast as the teachers speak, taking all the notes in class and then regurgitating them back during exams, etc. etc.; and yes, creating nicknames for you teachers. Perhaps we studied a bit too hard to the exclusion of many desirable and not-so-desirable extra curricular activities, but there is a time for everything and at that time, it was school and education. I certainly didn’t grow up as quickly as the kids in school today. But that was a blessing.
Before ending, thank you so much again, Mr Ching, for your labor, without which this website could not come into being. And without which, I would not have much concrete to remember my secondary school years by.
PS: please tell Ms Ng she is the best. Please give her an email hug from me.

Hi Dennis, it is exciting to receive your email. Thank you for writing to us. I updated the website immediately, appending your nicely written account on to Update 85. I did it even before sending this reply to you!
I look forward to some recent photos of you and yours. I attach Enoch's email address in the cc: to this email so you can write to him. I lost Enoch's photos after having several harddisk crashes (yes, literally several) in the last year or so. But perhaps Enoch can provide you with some if you write to him.
It is very nice to hear from you, and do keep updating us regularly, and keep in touch.
Felix

Ching Sir: Thank you for your reply.
Enoch: old pal, long time no see. Hope all is well with you. I hope you remember me, though I might have you confused with Albert Or about leaving CCSC for the Chinese U. If so, sorry… Listed below is my work phone. Feel free please to call.
Darrick (Lam): FYI. I tried calling you a couple times but didn’t get a reply. I hope this email address of yours is still valid.
To all: if you found yourself in Orange County, CA, please let me know. It will be fun to meet and catch up.
Cheers.

Dennis,
It is good to hear from you finally. I remember the last time that we met was in Seattle in 1984. Time really flies. I am living in Tampa, Florida with my wife and 2 kids (13 & 10). I changed my career path several times -- went from being a programmer to being a lawyer and then finally an entrepreneur. I started my own company in 1999 and now travel frequently to Asia and within the U.S. I go to L.A. once a while and will definitely look you up now that I have your contact information. (Thanks to Mr. Ching again!) I am very interested in getting in touch with Darrick as well. The last time that I saw him was in SF in 1987 or 1988. My contact info is:

Hi all,
I am in Hong Kong right now vacationing with the family. We will be here till August 22nd before heading back to California.
Enoch, it's really nice hearing from you again. It has been a long time since we last met. I have married for almost fifteen years now and we have two kids (11 and 9). I am now working for the federal government in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Administration on Aging. I have been in this field for over twenty years now and find there is a growing needs to find the best strategy in dealing with the aging population.
Mr. Ching, in case you don't remember me I attended CCSC from 1979-1983 (F4 - F7). Upon my graduation I attended Lingnam College briefly and then came over to California to finish my undergraduate study in Sociology at UC Davis. I eventually received my Master of Social Welfare at UC Berkeley, got a work permit, green-card, and then citizenship. I did go back and visit CCSC several years ago and I met with Mrs. Poon and Mrs. Lo.
Dennis, I will have another meeting in Orange County sometime in September. Maybe we can hook up again.
Until then, take care!
Cheers,
Darrick

Hi Mr Ching,
My name is Albert Ming Chee Lam (—Ñ –¾ Ž¡ ) and I attended CCSC from Form

I heard of this web-site from Lau Kam Chuen (F5 1976). It is a great web
site and thanks for the good work.
I would like to leave my e-mail address (albert_lam@optusnet.com.au) in the alumni list so that any long lost colleagues or friends can contact me if they happen to browse it.
Regards,

Hi Mr Ching,
Thank you for your e-mail.
I came to Sydney to study at Macquarie University after Form 7 and have stayed (apart from 10 months back in Hong Kong) ever since. I live in St. Ives, Sydney which is about 20 minutes’ drive north of Artarmon.
I remember Chung Hau Tim and Cheng Mi Yu Ivy. If my memory is correct, I think Cheng Mi Yu was the Head Prefect then when I was a prefect in Form 5.
Attached are photos taken when I went back to Hong Kong for the CCSC annual dinner (35th year anniversary). I am the 4th person from the left in the top photo with my former teachers (Miss Ng was my form teacher when I was in Form 1 together with Mr Wat). In the lower photo I was 7th from the right with my Form 5 classmates.
Do give me a call when you visit Sydney next time. My mobile is xxx xxxxxxx.
Best wishes,
Albert

Subject: greeting from an old ccsc student
Hi Ching Sir,
My name is Thomas Wong. I visit your web site and so I drop you an email to
say "Hi".
To introduce myself, I was a F5 ccsc student at 1985 and left F6 at 1986 to
Toronto, Canada. I still remember that your chemistry teaching is valuable
to us for the HKCEE at that time although I forgot none of your teaching now
:-)
I have been working as a computer programmer at IBM Canada for 10+
years and am still working there luckily given the tough IT market nowadays.
Let's keep in touch, and thanks for your web site to bring back some of my
good memories of ccsc.

Dear Felix,
Yesterday night, I joined the dinner organized by Lau Kam Chuen for Poon Yau Shun Andy and his wife,
Chan Yin Man Anna. Andy enjoyed meeting his classmates and 4 teachers including me.
Andy and Yin Man just came over from Ocean Park to join the dinner at Luen Bong Kam Kok, but their children did not come along, Andy's family had been to Shanghai (I hope I do not make a mistake here). I am sure Andy will tell his long story to you later when he comes home!
I am sending you some photos of the dinner. I cannot recognize everybody from the photos, even if might I have taught them before. They include Po Kam On, Lau Kam Chuen, Pong King Yin, Ng Wai Lin, Suen Mi Kuen, among others, and Teachers Ms M Ng, Ms Marian Wu, Mrs Ng Lee Yuk Ling, and myself.
