CCSC NEWS
Ms Yvette Poon is going to retire this summer.
She started at CCSC in the early 1970s as a History teacher, which turned out to be her life-time career. Students, and fellow teachers alike, will surely miss Ms Poon. We congratulate her on her well deserved retirement, and wish her good health and best of luck in the days to come.
The picture below was taken towards the end of June, 2007 when Ms Poon treated all current CCSC teachers and staff and some ex-colleagues to a farewell buffet luncheon at Newton Hotel Hong Kong in North Point. Thanks to Mr Wat for providing the photograph.

Hospital is about the same. My favourite massage technique was
drumming. But it seems like I have learnt nothing compare to the
teachers in the clinic. I'll spare you from my needle stoies
this time round.
Gets a bit too lazy to memorise all the herbs lately. Maybe I
should just keep drinking them one by one.
Well, the weather is too nice and I can just do photosynthesis
all day. Also, get a bit occupied with these new job
opportunities.
(Earlier photo, added here by Felix).
The flowers are actually quite beautiful in Beijing. My camera
died so I can't show you anything. It is a well-known fact that
the roads and transport system are lousy, but putting flowers by
the roads is just simple and nice.
OK that's about it for now.
Love,
Aileer

Subject: Summer in Beijing
Summer and Beijing means wind, sand and heat.
I've been cleaning my house, thrown away buckets of black
water, should feel good... hm, thing is my house is still not
white. Then it started rainning properly in Beijing with even
some thunder (for a change), and flooding in the street; my
windows were still dirty after. My housemate got a new kitten.
She is quite cute and pretty, and relatively smart and cheaky
too. I can't say I hate her because of that. She is changing
my life. As I never plan to have any kid in my life nor my
house at this stage, I can't say I like her very much. Perhaps
I'm more of a dog person too, at least a puppy won't scratch
my bags and clothes. Like most needy kids, she doesn't even
like me leave my hands off her, and she wouldn't stop biting
me.
Professor Spencer from Aero.Eng IC was in China as the
Centenary Ambassodor. He gave a lecture in TsingHua University
and had a dinner with 15 Alumni in the evening. NOT
SURPRISINGLY, IC didn't pay for the dinner, even it just like
100 Pounds in total. Also not too surprisingly, some alumni
couldn't communicate with him in English. He started to worry
how do the first year UG manage in IC after that. Well, I told
him not to worry, there is a general concept in China 'if
people can't understand you, it means you are a great deep
scholar; if people understands you, it means you are quite
shallow'
My acupunture skill has not progressed much lately, but
somehow my pretty face has attracted more patients in the
hospital which means more work and more guinea pigs. Well, my
Finnish friend has to be the winner when it comes to beauty.
We went to a small community clinic one morning, one of the
patient who lost the ability to speak after a stroke sang a
song after seeing her, and he still asks for her.
My camera died in May, so no new photos. Even I'm still
enjoying the food and scenes in the new season. PS, I'm
transferring pics and small news into facebook which seems
easier for other people to share photos and information.
I would be back in UK at some stage, if you want anything from
this end, please do not hesitate to tell me. Keep me posted,
my friend.
A mole of love for you.

Dear Mr. Ching,
My name is LAW Chun Leung Andy and was a graduate in 1976 (F.7), same year
as Poon Yau Shun Andy who had been my classmate in F.2. But then he joined the
Science stream and I studied Arts subjects.
I migrated to Toronto in 1993 and have been living here since then. I learned
from Lau Kam Chuen recently about this website. I am now working in an
office job related to property registration in Ontario, not a professional
in short.
Thank for very much for making a such a great gathering point for us. I love
both this site and the one in HK since they bring back lots of memories of
the old days. But was sad to find that Mrs Yuen, my geography teacher, died
of cancer. I myself have cancer (NPC- cancer in the nasal pharynx area,
commonly found in Southern China) in 1998 and is considered 90% "cured"
since it has been 9 years.
I will find some old photos later and e-mail to you for posting on the
website.
Thanks again, Mr Ching, for creating the site.
Andy

Andy later sent this photo, circa 1972, amongst others. Thank you, Andy
