Subject: San Francisco Trip
Dear Felix, Audrey, Mrs. Sinn and all CCSC old students,
I was deeply impressed to see you all at the dinner on the night of 4/21 at San Fransico. It was a wonderful gathering because we had so many things to talk about: the school, teachers and classmates and the funny things that happened at school many years ago!
My wife, my daughter Connie, and I, thank you all for the delicious dinner and hope that one day we can come again to San Francisco.
In particular I would like to thank Roger (Chan Kwok Kwong) for driving me and my wife from the Airport to my hotel and to sightseeing at different places on the first day, and especially in taking my daughter to Fremont on 4/22.
I also thank Andy (Poon Yau Shun) for giving me the phone call. Everything went fine with this call!
Last but not least, I thank Rebecca Wat (Fung Pik Yeuk Rebecca) in driving my daughter and her friends back to SFO Airport for their flights home!
See you in the future!

The dinner was well attended by Bay Area past students that have come from a wide range of graduation years, from the 1970s to the 1990s (a difference of 20 years !). They include Chong Yee Wai [ F5 1996 ] and friend Alice, Yu Kin Keung James [ F4 1973 ], Lai Tan Hoi Clement [ F5 1991 ], Poon Yau Shun Andy [ F7 1977 ] and wife Chan Yin Man Anna [ F5 1975 ] , Chan Kwok Kwong Roger [ F5 1976 ], Chu Tung Lam Tony [ F5 1974 ] , Tse Tin Sing [ F7 1979 ], Fung Pik Yeuk Rebecca [ F7 1984 ], in addition to Mrs Sinn, Mr and Mrs Wat and their daughter Connie, and Felix and Audrey.
I would like to thank everybody for active participation in the party. Special thanks are due to Andy Poon and Roger Chan for coordinating their classmates. Andy is to be commended for picking an absolutely delicious menu. Thank you, Roger, for providing the very nice red wines.

 First Day Dinner
|
The dinner was on the second last day of Mr Wat's stay. He was to leave SF on Saturday 4/22/2006. In the morning of 4/21/2006, I drove the Wat's around San Francisco, and to Muir Woods in Mill Valley. Mr Wat showed great interest in the several hundred feet tall Redwoods. Perhaps we had good luck that day; we had the rare chance of seeing a female deer strolling among the trees grazing on the vegetation undergrowth, within just a few feet from us.
Another creature in the wild that Mr Wat saw on the same day and within close proximity are the Sea Lions. They were basking in the sun at Pier 39. Mr Wat was amazed and amused by their sheer numbers, their humongous sizes and loud roaring.
Apparently Mr Wat liked Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 more than any of the places he had gone to in the last couple days. Not surprisingly. There were so much to see, and thus so much to photograph in this area. He easily burnt out his 1-GB Memory Card and had to change into a new one on the spot. It was also because he liked the special foods at Fisherman's Wharf too. I don't know if he had tried the Dungenese Crabs or not (I had been away for some time so I did not see) but I knew he liked the Clam Chowder so much that he was carrying the bowl of soup all around the area, spoon-feeding himself while window shopping the streets or watching the street magician playing his tricks. He took a lot of pictures too.
The previous day, 4/20/2006, Mr and Mrs Wat, and Mrs Sinn, had visited my home early in the morning. Audrey cooked some home-made and simple breakfast for us all. After breakfast there was an extended period of relaxation, for taking photographs, conversations, looking at the plants in my garden, etc. Mr Wat was busy with his camera. Mrs Wat, who had claimed to be very afraid of dogs, surprisingly had overcome her fear and had befriended with Glory who came over to the sofa to greet them and to ask for tidbits. Later, we brought the Wats and Mrs Sinn to Napa Valley to look at the vineyards and wine production. The photo below is just a staged shot at the wine-tasting room in one of the wineries. The little walk and window shopping at the small towns of St. Helena and Calistoga proved to be very rewarding.
Counting back still one more day, 4/19/2006 was the day of Mr Wat's arrival at San Francisco. Chan Kwok Kwong Roger [ F5 1977 ] was so gracious in doing us the favor of picking up Mrs. Sinn from her son's home, and then pick up the Wat's from SFO, and to bring them to their hotel. It was a great relief to me, since I was held up at work in early morning, but I managed to put things down ASAP and joined them for lunch at South San Francisco. That was our very first lunch together and it was good. Then Roger started to drive them around the City for sightseeing. Towards late afternoon, Poon Yau Shun Andy and his wife Chan Yin Man Anna joined us at Golden Gate Park before all went to dinner. My son Anthony also joined us in the dinner, so that he could meet Uncle and Auntie Wat, and Auntie Sinn.
