Update # 72. July 8, 2005

A LEVEL "JONG YUEN"

Congratulations to CCSC for getting another Jong Yuen in the Advanced Level Examination this year. I don't have any information at this time, and would be grateful if anyone can tell me more about the results, the JongYuen himself, school overall performance, etc. etc. All I get here is the newspaper clipping from Sing Tao Daily News:

Please send me more information about this year's Jong Yuen. Click to Email

FAREWELL DINNER FOR RETIRING TEACHERS

CCSC bids farewell to the 5 teacher retirees in a formal dinner on July 7, 2005. Both the School Manager Mr Leung and Principal Mr Yuen were present. The dedicated service of the teachers all these years were highly appreciated, and souvenirs were presented. More photos can be seen in Family Album Page 203.

I post their menu below.... not only because it carries so many nice and tentalizing dishes, but also because students may find it interesting to see the many teachers' signatures on it.

VANCOUVER

It is exciting to hear again from David Lew [ F5 1979 ] in Vancouver. He shares with us his very nice web site "SkyLounge". The web site depicts the many facets of art and music that David excels in -- as a singer, music writer, nature photographer, &c. Below is one of the pages in his site, "About Me". The picture is him (of course ;-), and in fact it is the cover of the first music CD that he has published. You can even listen to his music on line. The guitar is the one he had used in SykLounge, "...not a great one but with lots of memory."

SkyLounge can be accessed at http://members.shaw.ca/skylounge/ . "Feel free to visit my simple website and leave comment if U want," David said.

Ching Sir,

Greetings from Florida. This is Enoch Poon. I left CCSC in 1982 after finishing F6. I remember that you were our Yellow House advisor and also plays the violin. I found your web site while searching for Rebecca Fung [ F7 1984 ] who attends my cousin, Florence Chan's, church in SF. I am very glad to have found your site. My current address is: ( ....... )

Since coming to the US in 1982, I have attended schools mainly in the Midwest. I have been a programmer, an attorney and now a businessman. I started my own sourcing company 6 years ago and now have the opportunity to travel to HK and China every few months.

If you ever get a chance to come to Florida, please let me know. We live only 1 hour from Disney World. Do you know of any CCSC alum in Tampa, Florida?

Enoch

Dear Ching Sir,

My name is Clement Tong, an alumnus from CCSC (I studied F1 - F3 from 1982 - 1984). Since I only spent 3 years in CCSC, you may not be able to remember me. After F3 I went to study in England and have been living in Vancouver, Canada since 1988.

Thanks for your wonderful website! I visited it by accident and really appreciate your effort. Can you please put me on your list, even though I haven't visited you yet, just in case some of my old classmates may recognize my name?

I actually recognize a name on your list:
      Ho Tat Kei Alfred
      F6 1987
      Ames, Iowa

Alfred was a good friend of mine and we used to play badminton a lot next to the school canteen during lunch time. Is it possible for you to give me his contact email? I don't mind if you want to get his permission first, as I'm sure he'll like to know my contact too. Thanks so much!

I currently work as a certified translator in Vancouver, but my passion is in Christian popular art and I have a Christian music team called Grace Melodia. We did tour in SF in 2004 with our Easter musical. If you don't mind, please leave me a contact number. We do plan to tour SF again and would love to pay you a visit then. Thanks Sir.

Dear Mr Ching:
I'm very happy that you remember me. I'm very impressed for the work you've done.

I am in Hong Kong. I live in Tuen Mun. I am a primary school teacher for many years. I live with my wife and two daughters.

I still keep in touch with the classmates of F7 (1976), they are Po Kam On, Kwok Wai Chong, Mak Siu Kwai, Tam Kin Shun, Yung Sai Shing (came back HK on holiday from Singapore). We had dinner with Ms Wong (1976 class mistress) about three weeks ago.

Best regards!
Lee Kwok On
