Update # 69. September 9, 2004

TORONTO

I am so happy to hear from Ke Yi-Fan Gladys [ F5 1976 ], who was in my very first class as form-teacher in CCSC in 1973. She wrote from Toronto, and I do remember her name as soon as I opened her email:

Hi Mr. Ching, this is Ke Yi-Fan. You probably don't remember who I am. You were my Form 3C homeroom teacher in year 1973. I am so surprised to see that you had spend such a great effort to organize this CCSC web site for all the alumini.

I graduated in yr 1976 & migrated to Toronto, I actually lost touch with a lot of school friends until recently when I found that we had a Web site from Lau Kam Chuen. I am so glad that I can see some of the old friends on site. Chung Hau Tim was one of the long lost schoolmates since 1975.

Please add my name on your list and let's keep in touch.

Best regards from Gladys.

Hi Ching Sir,

Glad to hear from you again after a long separation for about 20 years. How are you ? Hope everything is fine with you and your family. Are you remain in the teaching profession in US ?

At present, my wife and me are residing and working in Singapore. We had been here since 1991. I am working in the profession of Facility Management in a local quasi-government organization. The life here is considered stable and meaningful.

In the mid-august, I returned to HK for 2 weeks and able to meet some of the classmates as seen in the photo and we had a joyful re-union gathering.

I do have some photos on myself and our happy old school days and I will send to you later for your viewing.

Do keep in touch and give me a call when you drop by Singapore !

Best Regards,
David

Pau Wai Hei later sent this 1977 photo and several others that I posted in Family Album. Thank you, David.

Dear Ching Sir,

Think I'll drop you a quick hello since I didn't really have much news last year. Back in London, it's only been a month and I'm bored with here already.

Give you more update once I'm on track

Love
Aileer

Then Aileer wrote in her second mail . . . . .

Dear Ching Sir,

School didn't have as much summer school students as they wish, so they released all of us 2 months early. Year in China was pretty good. I like it there. Guess I really can't stand the belief of quantity rather than quality of work, and nobody-fail policy in this particular school.

I've seen how technology and economics developed in China; then how underdeveloped are management and social culture...e.g. they believe that my English is good just because I was born in HK. Perhaps my favourite thing is cheap beer in Harbin.

Well I like Shanghai very much even I was slightly shocked there. I finally see an airport which is better than the HK Airport (Beijing Airport is a big lose-face for our country). Then Shanghai is also the first city I feel too big for me.

Have now been back in London for a month, bored with here already. Talk more soon.

Love
Aileer

Trip to Canada was just terrific. We enjoyed the quiet nature, the lakes, the mountains, the trails. We drove through the national parks, rode horses, paddled boats, chat, discuss, and cooked dinner and washed dishes! Cannot believe, right?! we enjoy the family time together very very much. Seems a long time not talking to the boys. We stayed with Terry ( Lo Yin Ping [ F5 1975 ] in Vancouver ) for 2 days, we had great time sharing (her food and our jokes).

Sending you some pictures soon.

I met Miss Ng, Miss Winnie Wong, Miss Fok, and Miss Su soon after i got back from Canada. We had a great time again, Sharing too (my food, their music, our old memories, very sweet.) I shall send you the pictures in the next email, beause I have not send them the pictures yet, such a lazy bone. Yes, we also called Mr KK Poon while they were in my place. If we got party next time, you mind us calling you up?

So you're back from Canada. How's the trip? Have pictures?

I wish to write to you later about my buddhist philosophy (to me it's philosophy more than religion, but have been slow in starting to write... Hope can do it soon. After all, I am not a very prolific email writer at all.

See ya

Felix
