Update # 44. February 21, 2002

GUNG HEI FAT CHOY to you all. Wish the Horse will bring you prosperity and health, and everybody possesses "the spirit and vigor of dragons and horses" ("Lung Ma Jing San"). I hope all students will do well in their examinations, and those who are working will get more wealthy in the year to come.

[ Appended on FEBRUARY 24, 2002 ]   Just received some Chinese New Year photographs of Ms Winnie Wong at her home, with Peach Blossoms and Narcissus. The pictures are posted in Family Album Page 92. Thank you very much, Winnie.

WEDDING BELLS

Miss Christine Chan & Mr Alex Chung

No wonder there were so many weddings last year -- in the Year of the Snake there were two Spring equinox in the same year, and the Chinese like it.

Congratulations to Miss Christine Chan, current CCSC teacher of English, EPA and History, who got married to Mr Alex Chung. Thanks to Mr Siu for sending us some pictures. Family Album Page 88.

Both Hau Yim Ping Fiona [ F7 1993 ] and Lau Mei Ying Rainbow [ F7 1993 ] also got married last year, in Hong Kong. The picture here depicts wedding cake cutting at Fiona's reception dinner. More Photos: Family Album Page 91.

Rainbow Lau used to live in United Kingdom to finish her Masters degree in Laws. After marriage she comes over here to San Francisco Bay Area to live with her husband Doug Kwan.

On February 18, 2002 Hau Yim Ping Fiona came to San Francisco. She was actually on a business trip at Santa Clara, but took advantage of an unexpected holiday break on Presidents' Day to move around the city of San Francisco, escorted by her classmates Tang Po Wan Ariel and Lau Mei Ying Rainbow, and me. She has been here before, but still liked the things that are new to her. At Fisherman's Wharf she tried the Dungenese crab which she ate by the road side, and looked at places like Pier 39, Japantown, Civic Center and the City Hall.

VANCOUVER

It is exciting to hear from Au Fung Yee Agnes [ F7 1976 ] who also sent us two nice pictures of herself and her son. It was three decades ago when Agnes was admitted into the the first Form 1 when CCSC first opened in 1969. She now lives in Vancouver with her husband and 2 girls and 1 son. Her eldest daughter is going to graduate from Pharmacy School at University of British Columbia, while the son is at 11th Grade. Thank you for the updates and the pictures, Agnes. Family Album Page 90.

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA

Many thanks too to Jacky Fan [ F5 1992 ] for updating us on his whereabouts.

......Do you have any gathering for the CCSC alum in the Bay Area? I think that'll be good to get all the people around the area and do a dinner for the new year, huh?

I'm stuck in Pittsburgh enjoying the so-so Chinese food... at least I'm getting together with my friends to celebrate, which is the most important thing for Chinese New Year.

I'm finishing up my MBA program here in Pittsburgh and will graduate in May. The only bad thing about graduating at this year is that it's tough to find a job when the economy's still down. Hopefully I can spend some more time in the United States (at least one year)....

MADISON, WISCONSIN

From Madison, Wisconsin, it is a pleasure to hear from Jessica Chang [ F5 1999 ] who updated me on her email address. Thanks, Jessica. She used to live in San Francisco Bay Area (Hayward), but transferred to University of Wisconsin at Madison last September. She is doing fine.
