We gathered together at Shanghai Restaurant in Daly City on December the 20th, the day of "Arrival of Winter" Festival. The gathering had a dual purpose: as a Christmas reunion, and more importantly, to meet Lau Mei Ying Rainbow [ F5 1991 ] again in the Bay Area. (We last met her in June.) Big thanks are due to Tang Po Wan Ariel who not only initiated the idea but also shouldered the organizing task.

Rainbow has now finished her law degree (LL.M.) in London, and this time she is coming from Hong Kong. (She said she ran into Tony Chan back there.) Present at the dinner were Rainbow Lau and her friend Doug Kwan, Ariel Tang, Cheung Ngai Peter, Ng Man Ho Eric, Lai Tan Hoi Clement, Tin Shun Kam Raymond, Chang Ching Jessica and myself.

It was also the first time we had the pleasure of meeting Jessica Chang [ F5 1999 ] in San Francisco. The presence of this beaming and charming little sister from Homeland suddenly made the big brothers here feel they're kind of old! (not me.... cos I already had this feeling long long ago, haha ). Jessica had come to the States more than a year ago and is currently attending Chabot College, but she is considering transfer to the University of California system the next year. She lives in Hayward, California with her sister. She told us her sister, Chang Man, is also from CCSC, probably from the Class of F5 1990. I hope both sisters will come to our future gatherings.

Brief updates on individuals:
  • Ng Man Ho Eric has been promoted to a managerial position in his company. At home, besides the two cats he's been keeping for several years, recently he has adopted a puppy, a golden retriever. Animal-lover he is.
  • Tin Shun Kam Raymond may be returning to Hong Kong to work there.
  • Heard that Chan Lai Wan Angel [ F5B 1991 ] (in HK) is going to have her baby early next year
  • Hung Ho Chak Steven went back to HK for Christmas from 12/17/2000
  • Chan Yau Kit Tony also back to HK at this time.

NEW YORK

Tsui Kwo Sonia [ F6 1991 ] came back from a short trip to New York, where she met with former classmates Fu Ching Mui Phoebe (Amy) and Tong Ka Pui Joan. Li Chun Chit Charles [ F5 1990 ] was also there from Los Angeles.

..... I haven't seen Amy for 12 years. We had a very nice time together. We just feel so natural and close and talked to each other again. I am glad that we had the chance to talk a lot and to share things in our life which bug us. We talked about lots of things which happened in high-school. It was so much fun to remind each other of the good old times

New York is a great city. I had good food there and I was in good Xmas spirit too. My energy level gets pumped up after my visit to New York.

Hopefully the pictures will come out nicely and I will send them to you.

PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA

Very nice indeed to hear from Jacky Fan [ F5A 1992 ] from Pennsylvania. For recent photos of Jacky please visit his good-looking homepage (URL: http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~fan2) .

ALOHA.... FROM HAWAII

My warm welcome to Carol Ng [ F6 2000 ] to our Overseas Home on line. Carol is the first CCSC alumni visiting us with the new-millennium stamp of 2000. She is having her first semester at Brigham Young University in Hawaii, and is "doing good". She writes:
....I am sure I have never met you, haha. But I think we can meet someday as I am planning to transfer to BYU-Provo in Utah. Although Utah is far away from Bay Area, it is still nearer than Hawaii, haha......

I know several of my friends in science stream are applying for universities in US and they are going to get results very soon. I will tell you the results later. If they really come, our CCSC oversea family will be larger.

[When asked how she found us, she said: ] I find your web site by search engine. (Just kidding!) Actually, Jessica Chang Ching told me about the site. We have been arc buddy since we were Form 2. She went to US one year before me.

HONG KONG

How nice indeed to see a pictorial Season's Greetings from Mr Sing Man Kwong [ F7 1983 ] and his two cute sons. Mr Sing is currently teaching Computer Studies at CCSC. Check out his photos on P.64 of Family Album.

It is exciting, too, to hear from Yue Che Wang Kenneth [ F5 1991 ] who left a message in the Guest Book. He also wrote on separate mail:

Dear Felix,

I joined Hewlett Packard, Hong Kong, only 1 month ago. Everything is new to me here. My role here is to be a developer in various projects, currently a telecom project, in software control of the switch in telephone exchange and the logic for the routing of IDD calls. But still I have to catch up as the software platform is very new to me. Originally I am a Java developer building web portal, but now, it is totally different......

I met Peter Cheung in August this year when he came back to Hong Kong for vacation. He knows one of my colleaques here and they are very good friends. What a small world......

For other people, sometimes I meet them on street... Last Wednesday, I had dinner with Esther Kwong Tin Chee, Edward To Kam Fai. I am planning to upload some photo and would like to seek for your help to post it. I need to scan them and will send them to you.... keep in touch!

Cheers,
Kenneth Yue Che Wang
[ F5 1991 ]

[ First of Kenneth's pictures received, now on P.66 ]
Thanks to Wong Chi Fai Derek [ F7 1986 ] and Lee Sing Fun Paul [ F7 1985 ] who sent their greetings and shared with us their recent family photos. FAMILY ALBUM P.62 & 63. Tsang Mo She Moshea [ F3 1991 ] who left London and is now working in HK, also sent us a photo of her at her Bank's Christmas Party. P.65.

Wong Chi Fai Derek obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Hong Kong in 1994, and is now in environmental protection work. Ever since his university days and after, he has practiced Chinese Martial Arts ("Eagle Claw") at professional level, as a devoted hobby. He had served as master/instructor in Kung Fu classes both at HKU and in a Martial Arts school in San Francisco area, and also took part in international tournaments too. He visited me a lot when he was in San Francisco. Derek's daughter is now 2 years 3 months old. He is the brother of Wong Chi Pan Ricky [ F7A 1985 ] and Wong Chi Wai [ F7B 1989 ], all three of them from CCSC.
[ DEREK SENT THIS PHOTO TO ME SIX YEARS AGO !!! ]
