MORE FROM LONDON

Aileer in London Chinatown with her friends

Further updates on Cheng Sau Ting Aileer [ F5 1994 ]:
After going through a full-day, long but "interesting" selection process, Aileer has been accepted by VSO in England, a volunteer organization providing specialist assistance to underdeveloped or developing countries. Applicants to VSO are all highly qualified professionals with great credentials, and there are so many of them that VSO has to screen for the better candidates. They give up highly paid job opportunities and opt for volunteer work, just to serve the less privileged communities in the poorer sectors in the world. Hats off to Aileer and her colleagues from VSO.

All this means Aileer may possibly be travelling to Africa or South America to work as a volunteer teacher. Proud that CCSC has produced such graduates willing to bring help and love to people in need.

Thanks to Aileer for the support she rendered this web site. She scanned for us three photos in her Imperial College computer center, amidst unfamiliar equipment and not very cooperative personnel. Take a look at Family Album Page 43.

I heard that Tsang Mo She Moshea [ F3 1991 ] is now back to Hong Kong.

Then all of a sudden I found Aileer writing from Hong Kong. (I'm not really surprised, as she does travel a lot. Only a short while ago she had been to Brussels.)

Dear Felix,

I've been back to HK for 5 days. I was the local guide for my friend all this time. .....We had lots of heavy rains in HK last week and our sightseeing plans were spoiled. However one evening my ghost friend ask me to take a picture of him under the rain. He was so excited to tell me that we can never have such rain in UK. We say the rains in UK are very small and girlie. In HK we have a male weather, when it shines, it will be hot enough to sublime you; when it rains, it rains properly. ......

NEW JERSEY

Great to hear that Lam Ting Wah Terence [ F2 1988 ] is doing fine in his new job in New Jersey.

Hi Ching Sir,

How are you? It's been several weeks since I moved here to NJ to join Lucent. In general things are going fine. Right now I am in the process of getting up to speed on various new things, and there are certainly much interesting materials to learn around here.

So how are things going with you? Even more so than before, your CCSC website will continue to be my main source of information on CCSC news. BTW, Francis Chan is currently in NYC to attend some training classes until October. Sherman Pang, he and I met for dinner approximately two weeks back.

Take care. Keep in touch.

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Nice to hear from Chang Ching Jessica [ F5 1999 ] from Hayward, California. She is a student of Chabot College and was taking a Computer Science class at University of California at Berkeley for the summer.

Also coming to Berkeley as a full time Junior is Choi Yi Yan Christy [ F5 1996 ]. The last time I heard from her she said she has already found a place to stay. Probably at this time she should be living there.

Liem Wen Ching Irene [ F5 1990 ] from Chicago came to San Francisco Bay Area for a months' job training. She was met by former classmates Tsui Kwo Sonia, Wong Wing Yee Wynne and Chan Yau Kit Tony in a little reunion at Mountain View in June. Thanks to Sonia for the photograph and information. Irene is back to Chicago at this time. She got married last year. An enlarged version this picture can be found in Family Album Page 44.

HONG KONG

Schedules and itinerary for Lee Sing Fun Paul's [ F7 1985 ] stay in San Francisco is now finalized. He will arrive at San Francisco on August 28, 2000. Four days later he will move into the Guest House of University of California San Francisco Medical Center and will remain there for 2 months. He will leave in late October.

So nice that Chan Wai Man Johnny [ F7 1985 ] visited this web site and left a message in the Guest Book. Johnny and Lee Sing Fun entered HKU Medical School together. "I am just introduced to this homepage by him actually. Great job and wonderful sweet memories....." Johnny is now working in Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a respiratory physician.

Chan Wai Man will also be coming to San Francisco, to attend a medical conference in October. Hope we'll meet him when he is here.

[ APPENDED: AUG 27, 2000 ]   Thanks to Chan Chi Ming John [ F7 1980 ] who updated me on his contact address. John has been with IBM in HK for 17 years and is now manager of one of its subsidiary companies. Despite his professional training in computing, lately John is looking for side reading in bio-medical and environmental sciences in his spare time.
