SAN FRANCISCO

Rainbow Lau from London, England
From Left:   Steven, Raymond, Clement, Eric, Rainbow, Doug, Tony, Ariel, Terence.

Lau Mei Ying Rainbow [ F5 1991 ] came to San Francisco Bay Area from London. She and her friend Doug Kwan met with Ariel Tang [ F4 1990 ], Clement Lai [ F5 1991 ], Eric Ng [ F5 1991 ], Terence Lam [ F2 1988 ], Tony Chan [ F2 1987 ], Raymond Tin [ F4 1989 ] and Steven Hung [ F7 1999 ] in a luncheon at Cupertino. Thanks to Ariel Tang for organizing. Rainbow is due to complete her Master's degree in Laws in London when she gets back there, but intends to work in Hong Kong upon graduation.

From Washington, D.C., Chan Wing Fu [ F7 1993 ] is here for a week's stay at Menlo Park with Clement Lai, after he has finished his degree in Business at Georgetown University. Clement Lai, Rainbow Lau, Doug Kwan, Ariel Tang, Terence Lam and I had dinner with him at HK Flower Lounge at Millbrae. Chan Wing Fu has a great sense of humor; we were all amused by his jokes and talk during the dinner. He is going to join a bank in Hong Kong.

We will miss Lam Ting Wa Terence [ F2 1988 ] in San Francisco because he is going to the East Coast to work with a bigger semiconductor company. Besides being an electronics engineer at Santa Clara, Terence has completed a part time Master's degree at Santa Clara University this summer. (Tony Chan went to his graduation ceremony. Pictures on Page 42 of Family Album). Terence said he will keep in touch from the East Coast.

Our warm welcome to Choi Yi Yan Christy [ F5 1994 ] to the Bay Area. Christy will transfer to University of California at Berkeley this fall, after spending two years at University of the Pacific in Stockton. Her major is in Mass Communications. At this time she is procuring lodging in Berkeley and getting ready for the relocation. Hope we'll meet her soon.

LONDON, UK

I have had a lot of email communications with Cheng Sau Ting Aileer [ F5 1994 ] in London; she writes so well every time. In the dinner with Chan Wing Fu, someone came up with the question: "Do you know any CCSC past student who contemplates going for a teaching career?" Now there, Aileer is definitely one of them. She has just finished her Master's degree in Chemistry with flying colors at Imperial College, London University, and is currently applying for admission into the P.G.C.E. program (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in one of the prestigious universities in United Kingdom. Pursuing a teaching career has long been her goal and she possesses all the qualities to be a good teacher. We hope to hear good news from her very soon. Good luck and keep us posted, Aileer.

TORONTO, CANADA

I am happy to have found the Homepage of Jack Tang [ F5 1997 ]. He wrote back to me: "I am very glad to receive your email. I started my school life in CCSC since 1993, so I think I haven't seen you before. I was a Form 5 graduate from CCSC in 1997. Then, my whole family moved to Canada. I will be a 2nd-year Accounting student in University of Waterloo in the coming fall . Anyway, thank you very much for sending me an email attached with your CCSC website....

"I met Jason Wong before in University of Waterloo. I think he is studying Computer Engineering. Actually, I have known Steven Hung (now in Berkeley) and Jason since Form 1. We always played basketball after school in CCSC. We had great times in CCSC's basketball field."

CCSC NEWS

Mr C K Siu sent us nine photos he took when the staff were attending a lecture given by alumnus and current CCSC teacher, Mr Sing Man Kwong [ F7 1983 ], on how to attain the BIT (Basic I.T.) standard set by the Education Department by the end of this year. "I would have taken more photos but for the limited capacity of the 4 MB memory stick I was using at the time. Some of the photos look blurred owing to my regrettable decision not to use flash while zooming in. The longer exposure time plus a far from rock-steady grip produced this undesirable effect. You may also compare these with those where flash was used...." Nevertheless, I found that all the pictures are actually of very good quality. It is so nice to see the faces of the teachers again, especially on close-up. Thank you once again for your invaluable inputs, Schick.
