Update # 20. January 31, 2000
CCSC'ers in the 1980's
In the last couple of weeks, we received quite a bunch of photographs of the 1980s from two alumni now residing on different continents.
Wong Kwok Leung Owen [ F5 1983 ], from Hong Kong, had learnt about this web site through his colleague and fellow CCSC alumni, Li Hiu Fai Hilda [ F5 1991 ]. On browsing the Family Album he found his sister Wong Wai Yee [ F7 1984 ] in the F7B photos sent earlier by Jackson Ho from Canada. Owen sent us three photos that he has been keeping for nearly 15 years. They are now posted in the Family Album Page 26. Thank you so much, Owen.
We are so pleased to hear the updates sent by Kan Wun Ming Keith [ F5 1984 ] from Canada. After graduating F5 at CCSC, Keith went to St. Stephen's College, Stanley, for F6, then migrated to Canada, and eventually got his Master's degree in Computer Engineering from McMaster University. In 1997 he got married in Toronto. The picture is the wedding photo of Keith and his wife Candy.
Last July Keith went back to Hong Kong and met with a number of former classmates. Many of them are quite established in their own professions after having worked for so many years: Cheung Yuet Wah Betty finished her Law degree and is working for HK Government, Tang Sheung Man Simon is in professional accountancy, Mui Cham Yan Andrew did research work at HKU and is in insurance profession, Lo Kin Chong John in software developing, and Tsui Chi Kei Libra is in marketing.
"....Too bad we didn't take any pictures.... but see if you can remember those names...."
A number of F5 1984 graduates are currently at Toronto, Canada. Keith provided some names: Wong Shiu Shing Al is from 5A. Chiu Suet Man Kathy, also from 5A (transferred from 5B), is a programmer in a bank. Ho Wai Man Raymond came to Canada after Form 4B, now running a Computer shop. Lee Tin Lok Brian also 5A, is now an aerospace engineer. Leung Chin Man Billy was from 5B; he came to USA after F6, studied optics and physics, later immigrated to Canada, stayed for some time at Toronto with Keith and recently moved to Ottawa; he is in computer hardware and house construction.
Keith mentioned the tragic loss of two of his dear F5B classmates in Hong Kong in 1996: Chu Shuk-iam Peony and Wong Kai Lung Martin.
Keith also transmitted over to us a big batch of photos, including his treasured annual Class Photos of the 1980-1985 era, not only of his own class, but the "neighboring" classes as well. Pictures and tidings sent by Keith can be found on Family Album Page 27 and 28
He also writes: "Just thought of something that you may find interesting. The acadamic standard of Chemistry in Hong Kong [ Could it rather be CCSC? (Felix's comments, Ha Ha...) ] was very high compared to here (Canada). When I was in high school, I ranked the 21st in the whole Province in a well-known chemistry contest. I was awarded a VERY big Periodic Table poster with the pictures of all the elements."
