Cheung Chuk Shan College alumni overseas link UPDATES

Update # 19. January 11, 2000

So, this is the first update in theYear 2000. May the new millennium shower you with love, laughter, and rainbows. Did everyone survive the Y2K computer glitch? I did, or else I wouldn't have been able to continue updating the web site. Probably you too, or else you won't be here reading.

LONDON, ENGLAND

It is exciting to hear from Cheng Sau Ting Aileer [ F5 1994 ], as she is the second past student who contacted us from the United Kingdom. That must be good news to Moshea Tsang [ F3 1991 ] too, who often calls herself "the one and only one who studies in the UK". Perhaps she does feel a little solitude, in terms of the number of fellow ccsc alumni near her. Incidentally, both Aileer and Moshea are from London, and from Imperial College, although they never met. Aileer is currently reading Chemistry and will soon graduate with her Master's degree. She recognizes a number of names on this web site. Apart from her classmate Connie Wong, Aileer remembers Hannah Chi of F5 1991. "She is such a good swimmer," she recalls. She and Hannah were both from Green House.

SAN FRANCISCO AREA

The holiday season brought many alumni back home to Hong Kong. It became all quiet on the Bay Area alumni front. Hope it's only temporary.

Wong Wing Yee Wynne was probably one of the earliest to leave, in early November, and thus missed the reunion party. Chan Yau Kit Tony and Wong Chi Huen Connie visited CCSC together and met Mr Sing, Mr Wat, Mr Yam, Ms Chan, Mrs Ma and other teachers.

Mr Wat was so happy to have met Tony and Connie that he wrote to me afterwards: "... As I was returning to the staff room I saw a girl standing in front of the office. I did not recognize that she was Connie at first sight. Maybe it was due to her change in hair-style or perhaps we had not seen each other for several years. ...... Tony had left CCSC after F2. He was carrying with him his old class photos (F1 and F2), perhaps to help us recall who he was. It's been such a long time. The form teachers in the two photos were Mr Yam and Miss Su. Tony was sitting by the side of Mr Yam, so he ought to be Class Monitor. As Mr Yam was still in the staff room, I led Tony and Connie to meet Mr Yam...."

After a while Mr Wat and the two visiting alumni went out for afternoon tea to continue their conversation.

"..... I learned that Tony was quite successful in his career. Recently he bought a BMW after he had gained some money from stocks. He told me that sometimes he went fishing, car racing, snowboarding, and roller-blading. He showed me photos of his activities. He told me that Connie is now studying for her PhD at Stanford. Is that right? Tony himself was a Stanford graduate. He said he had met
Hung Ho Chak Steven, our fresh Form 7 graduate of 1999. Tony would go to Beijing today and return to Hong Kong to take his flight back to US on the 29th. Connie would fly on the 2nd of January. So nice to meet these two young people......"

Sheren Cheung boarded her plane for HKG on Dec 15. Before she left she emailed me saying, "....Do you need me to bring anything back there, or do you want me to get anything for you or anyone?"

How nice of you, Sheren. Thanks for your thoughtfulness !

She continues: "I've been really busy for the final; I am having 4 finals, one at 9th, 2 at 10th and the last one at 14th. won't be allowed to sleep!! =:::( but... it's funny... I always have the good time with stress and tiredness in the library during the finals! However, getting excited for going home soon! =) I will try to ask Miss Ng to get some pic for you!  Wish me Luck and have a good one!...."

Ng Man Ho Eric, Hung Ho Chak Steven and Tin Shun Kam Raymond also went back to Hong Kong.

HONG KONG

Thanks to Au Yat Hin Thomas [ F5 1996 ] for his message in the Guest Book. He is the co-webmaster of the popular Unofficial CCSC Mailing List. I have personally heard Bay Area alumni's good comments about the usefulness of Thomas and Eddie's web site in getting into contact with past classmates. Unfortunately they are so busy at university that they have to give up further maintenance. Thomas does still maintain his own personal homeage, Silly Guy's Crazy Zone, though.

I welcome the visit of current students Douglas Tsang and Chan Chuen Wing Kevin.
