Here are the Guest Book entries

CCSC Alumni overseas link

This is a collection of all guest book entries from 1998 (when the website was first launched) to late 2003 when I decided to do away with a Guest Book, as it is really time-consuming to maintain. In between, I had lost about 10-20 messages (mostly written in early 2003) when the first guest book died on me without fore-warning. If you had written a message before but cannot find it here, probably your message is one of those that were lost. Sorry about that.

Hi All, Welcome to the Guest Book. I hope this site will provide an additional link to bring together Cheung Chuk Shan College past students living in USA, Hong Kong and elsewhere in the world. You may include information so that other CCSC friends may know who you are. However, please be aware that this web page is accessible to anyone on the web, and hence it is unwise to include information of a private and very personal nature. My best wishes to all. ---Felix

Hi, everybody! It's always nice to have another CCSC website set up somewhere in this world to link up the past memories of our good old school days. I do hope that through this Internet link both students and teachers can still continue to communicate wherever they are as in the years when BBS was prevailing all over the world and yet in a more informative and pictorial way.

Your Homepage is a very colourful and attractive one. It will link up, I hope, all the CCSC students and teachers from different corners of the world. Soon we are all under the SAME ROOF as before. May we, teachers or students, chat freely again with your LINK. I do like to look at the beautiful sceneries in your Photo Gallery. You have brought us Marvellous sights from U.S. which make me feel the move to go to such places to see with my own eyes one day! Would it be possible to add some of your family photos so that we can see your wife and your son too?

Hi Felix and overseas alumni:

I would like to tell you (esp. overseas alumni) about CCSC's 30th Anniversary Dinner which you probably were not able to attend.

The dinner was held at Maxim's Chinese Restaurant, City Hall, on the night of 17th April, 1999. I was a member of the organizing committee. My duty on that night was to meet the old students and chat with them before the dinner -- easy job for me. On a few occasions, however, it was a bit embarrassing to have forgotten the names of some of my past students. I did remember a lot of names actually.

That evening all the male staff wore a newly-designed school tie. There were 4 reception counters. Counter A was for the registration of the students and distribution of free souvenirs which included a flexible electric torch, a ball-pen or a fountain pen and a small full-coloured school badge. Counter B was for teacher registration, and sale of dinner tickets to those who suddenly dropped in that night or giving out dinner tickets to those who had not yet collected their tickets. Counter C was for the sale of 30th Anniversay souvenirs - those pens mentioned above, school magazines, A4 writing paper with a small picture of CCSC school building / Anniverary logo at the corners, envelopes and plastic files. Counter D was operated by some old students, mainly for recruiting new members of the Old Students Association.

The teachers arrived early. Most of them had their own duties while I chatted with those students I know well. I was touched to learn that two girls whom I had taught before, came all the way back by plane from Shanghai, just to attend the Dinner. One of them (Ching Sau Ying Fanny) had to fly back to Shanghai the very next day! See how much they love the School and teachers!

I sat with Mr Yuen, Miss Fok, Miss Mag Ng, Miss Su, Mrs J Wong and some old colleagues such as Mrs Sinn, Mrs Hui Chan Sau Han, Mrs Lui (a.k.a. Miss Mak, former P.E. teacher) and Choi Chi Yan, a student from OSA. Soon came the lucky draw for individual tables. There were 7 prizes for each table. I got a red packet of $100. The red packets, one for each table, were donated by a former Form 3 student of 1969-70. There were 38 tables that night, so the girl would have to donate $3800 to the dinner.

Before the food was served, the two MC's, Miss Winnie Wong and OSA Chairman Edmund Yau, addressed the gathering. We hurried to finish each course as we had to leave the table to take a lot of photos together with the alumni, according to their year of graduation. Of course, Mr Leung, Mr Yuen and Miss Fok had to be photographed every time.

Then there was another lucky draw, after which was a slide-show of the recent activities at school, presented by Mr Siu in a very funny way as he assumed the role of an old student coming back to CCSC. This was then followed by a Magic Show conducted by our two teacher-magicians, Mr Tong and Mr Chow. Miss Yung and Mr Fung Tze Sun were invited to assist the magic show. Finally came the lucky draw of the Grand Prizes of the evening. The first prize was a chair covered with gold foil, and costing HK$8000. It was lucky that I was not the one who got it, otherwise I don't know where to put it and dare not sit on it.

The dinner ended before 11 o'clock. Mr Leung asked all the teachers to stay a little longer to take a Family Picture to mark the occasion. Surprisingly, a number of students also were staying behind while the Family Picture was taken. Do you know what they were waiting for? Well, they were waiting for Miss M Ng and me, to take pictures with them! They also waited to take a picture with Mr Au, the person-in-charge for the dinner, after he had settled the bill for the dinner.

Hats Off to Mr Au and Mr T N Chan who had contributed a lot of efforts in this function, and I learnt that Mr Au was not feeling well on that day ! )

Well, that's the story. What do you think about it?

Wat

Thank you, Wat, for your very nice and vivid account of the evening. --- Felix

It's very excited to see your homepage through your mail to our every medic CCSCers. I'm a Form 5 student when you migrated to San Fransico that year. You're my Form 3 Biology teacher, one of my best teachers. :-)

I just had dinner with Hilda Li a few days ago and she also mentioned you've set up a homepage for our school. This is my first time to enter the homepage and it's really a very nice homepage. It's very amazing and excited to see "Updates". Some visitors of this homepage are coming the year 1975 as I was two year-old, so incredible.

Best Wishes.

This homepage is very useful for CCSC almuni too. Keep

I am not too sure whether you would remember me, but I'm in the Class in the year with Lai Man Ho David, Cheng Wai Leung Michael, Lam Chung Ming Paul, Ng Lai Yee etc. However, I have to repeat the HKAL the next year and spend that dreadful year with buddies like Lee Sing Fun who went to Medicine HKU together in 1986. I am just introduced to this homepage by him actually. Great job and wonderful sweet memories. I am now working in Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a respiratory physician.

I believe I have met you after my study in Canada (around 1976)??????My memory is not that good these days. I learnt about this website from my F.1B students(1972) when we finally sat down to dinner after may be 20 or more years; and we had a great time.

I am very happy to find out that there is such web page for all CCSC alumni.

I wonder how many of you know me as I moved to study in Canada when I was in Form 4 back in 1981.

I am now in Singapore and is working in an advertising agency.

Please do let me know if any one who knows me happened to visit Singapore or even in Singapore now. Surely it will be good if we can talk to some old friends.

Dear Ching Sir,

Thank you so much for creating this wonderful web site. It has brought back a lot of fond memories. You taught me Biology from 1978 to 1979 when I was in F.1C and F.2A. I can't believe it's been over 20 years since then. I came to the Bay Area in 1989 and had worked as a programmer for years. I'm now a housewife and a beginning author. I wish I had discovered this site earlier so I could attend the dinner reunion in Hong Kong Flower Lounge. ( I live just 10 minutes away from that restaurant.) Anyway, please count me in next time.

Best Wishes,
Rebecca Fung

P.S. I would love to hear from any CCSC alumni who knew me, especially those who were in the school basket-ball team from 82 to 84.

Well, For your website, my tears just ran out cos I didn't study well but I still remember my days at College.

I have just changeed my job to Swire Properties Limited in Hong Kong. Well, a very colonial company that I have to get use to their British culture for at least a few months more.

I graduated from CCSC in 1987 and went to the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Yes, I was one of those "rebels" who skipped the A-level exam. I studied in the arts class.

When I was in CCSC, people liked to reverse my Chinese name and called me "Kei-Tat".

After my graduation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, I went to Indiana University in the U.S. to study public administration. I got my Master degree in 1993 and finished my Ph.D. in 1997. Currently, I am teaching at Iowa State University. Many of you may not know where the state of Iowa is. It is in the middle of the U.S. A highly agricultural state. My teaching and research are primarily in U.S. state and local governments, public budgeting and financial management, and information technology management.

Virginia is my wife. She just graduated from law school and will practise law in Iowa when I am still in Iowa.

First visit today - shame on me. Delighted to know that I am not washed up on an island here. Would love to see Chan Yin Man, Poon Yau Shun, and Yu Kin Kuen in SF sometimes. Hope that my name still rings a bell to them. Am I the only one in Los Angeles? Best to all.

Hi Ching Sir!

I don't think I was your student but I know my late brother Paul Shih (pronounced "Shek" in Cantonese) was. We moved to the US in 1989 and my brother Paul was killed in an automobile accident in 1997. I haven't kept in touch with most old schoolmates, and I'm really glad to find this website. Thanks for your efforts!

I just found this wonderful website by chance today through the search engine. Being a first-time visiter, I am really fascinated by the wide and up-to-date coverage of our alma mater in this website. On the other hand, I am also excited that I can identify a few CCSC old classmates of mine, from whom I have not heard any news for quite a long time. For example, Tony Yuen (now calling himself 'Brian') was one of my first friends in CCSC when I was admitted to Form 1. Having read through his passage in the Guestbook, I am surprised to know that he can still remember so many details of our days when we were in Form 1. Since he moved to Canada, I have not heard from him any more until today. It is surprising to know that despite our separation after Form 1, we end up working in the same engineering discipline (though he is doing his PhD research whereas I am working as a practising engineer). Connie Wong had been my classmate in HKCEE and HKALE classes. I am glad to know from her photos and emails posted in this website that she is enjoying her PhD study and campus life (especially social dancing) in the US. Another classmate of mine in Form 3, Aileer Cheng, seems to be a keen supporter of this website. From the vast number of photos and emails from her, she has demonstrated her way to a fruitful and meaningful life by travelling to different parts of the world to provide voluntary services to the ones in need. This is a remarkable achievement that every one of us should be proud of. This is really a great website for searching near-vanished old friends in CCSC, which I shall definitely recommend to other schoolmates with whom I still have contact. If any of my CCSC old friends happen to come across this website, please do not hesitate to drop me a few lines here or in my email box. I shall certainly come back to you as early as possible.
